Our Story

How we started...

Hi, my name is Lindsay!

I am a proud mother of two incredible kids and I'm excited to share how we started this…

It all began with me wanting to give my mom a truly special Mother’s Day gift. I wanted something more than the usual flowers, cards, and candy. Something that would live on as a memory and capture a certain point in time (because wow, does it go fast).

That’s when I got the idea!A personalized storybook that my son could read during his sleepovers at her house.

I knew exactly what needed to be in it...all the little moments that make their time together magical. Playing with the water table, seeing hummingbirds as they walk to the park, eating Chinese food (egg rolls are his favorite), and their nightly routine which involves lots of singing and back rubs.

I started gathering photos of each moment, determined to turn them into a beautifully illustrated storybook.

I was so excited to get started but the process was not as easy as I had hoped. I spent days uploading pictures and testing AI tools to make them look like storybook illustrations.

Then, I had to move them into a separate photo book site to actually design and print the book.

I manually typed out the story, making sure every word captured the love between them. It was a big labor of love!

When the book finally arrived, my mom absolutely loved it (the happy tears were flowing) and my son instantly claimed it as his favorite story book. Seeing their smiles made all the effort worth it, but I knew there had to be an easier way.

My husband and I are serial entrepreneurs. I met him when I interviewed for a job at his AI company. We've started multiple businesses together since then and make a great team!!

He runs an AI company full-time, and with his engineering background, he helped me find and use the right tools to put everything I needed together in order to automate the process I followed to make the gift I got my mom.

We also significantly refined the system to make high quality illustrations and stories that don't take as much back and forth as I had to when using ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Grok.

I want everyone to be able to create a timeless keepsake in minutes. A cherished book of memories that can be revisited at any time. The perfect gift that is made with love!And so, Once Upon A Memory was born!
